Scope
How we collect, use, share and protect your personal data under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect
- Identity & contact: name, email, phone, billing/shipping addresses.
- Order & account: items ordered, payment confirmation, order history, account details.
- Usage & device: IP, browser/device data and interactions (subject to your cookie choices).
- Support: messages and photos you send to us.
We do not intentionally collect special category data.

Legal bases & purposes
- Fulfil orders, deliveries, returns, warranties, service messages — Contract; Legal obligation for accounting/tax.
- Site security and fraud prevention — Legitimate interests.
- Email marketing (opt‑in/soft opt‑in where permitted) — Consent (withdraw any time).
- Analytics/advertising (e.g. GA4, Meta) — Consent only after you opt in via our banner.

Cookies & consent
We use one cookie banner with Shopify Consent Mode v2. Non‑essential cookies (analytics/ads) do not run until you consent. Change choices any time via Manage Cookies in our footer. We do not use cookie walls.

Sharing
We share data with Shopify, payment processors, delivery/fulfilment partners, IT/security vendors, and (after consent) analytics/ads providers. We may share if required by law or during a business transfer. We do not sell your personal data.

International transfers
Where data is transferred outside the UK by our providers, we use UK adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards (e.g. the UK IDTA or SCCs with the UK Addendum).

Retention
- Orders and invoices: 6 years from the end of the financial year.
- Warranty records: for the warranty period.
- Customer service: up to 2 years after case closure.
- Marketing: until you opt out (we keep a suppression record).
- Security logs: up to 12 months (longer if needed for investigations).

Your rights
Access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and objection (including to direct marketing). We respond within one month. Withdraw consent at any time (unsubscribe or Cookie Settings). Contact: info@aresfit.co.uk. You can complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk / 0303 123 1113).

Children
Our services are for 18+.

Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, but no method is 100% secure—avoid sending sensitive data by email.

Finance applications (when available)
If you apply for finance at checkout or after a quote, we will share your contact and order details with Shire Leasing so they can assess your application and, if approved, set up your credit agreement. Shire Leasing acts as an independent controller. Our lawful bases are contract (to process your application at your request) and legitimate interests (to offer finance as an option).
